CBT Masterclass Working with Inpatients using CBT

 

Dr Rumina Taylor: Principal Clinical Psychologist PICuP Clinic, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust & Consultant Clinical Psychologist IoPPN, KCL

 

University of Hull, 1.00pm – 4.30pm

 The session will cover:

  • How to work psychologically with service users currently admitted to hospital and their families using CBT
  • The criticisms of acute care
  • How to develop a therapeutic milieu and work effectively as part of a MDT
  • The adaptations to psychological work that need to be considered
  • The advantages and challenges of the inpatient setting            

 

Rumina Taylor

Rumina is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, UK. She is also a Chartered member of the Division of Clinical Psychology and previously co-chaired the Acute Network which is part of the Psychosis and Complex Mental Health Faculty.

Rumina is passionate about inpatient care and has extensive experience of working within acute settings. She has designed and implemented an award winning ward based family service to promote the inclusion of service users and families and to provide greater access to psychological interventions.

Rumina is currently a Principal Clinical Psychologist at the PICuP (Psychological Interventions Clinic for outpatients with Psychosis) Clinic, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, & Neuroscience, King’s College London.
