The aim of the training is to provide practitioners with the latest evidence based knowledge to be able to confidently advise on, and undertake vaccination competently.The training is suitable for those practitioners, registered and unregistered, who are involved in advising on matters concerning vaccination and also for those who administer vaccinations. If you are unsure whether or not you should attend, please contact us to discuss further. The 2-day basic training is for those new to Immunisation who have never attended basic training previously. Times: 9:30am to 4pm on both days, the training will be delivered using a hybrid module. Day 1: online via MS teams and Day 2: face-to-face. The aims of immunisation: national policy and schedules The immune system, how vaccines work and adverse events Vaccine preventable diseases. The different types of vaccines used and their composition. Current issues and controversies regarding immunisation. Communicating with patients and parents Legal aspects of vaccination. Storage and handling of vaccines. Correct administration of vaccines Documentation, record keeping and reporting *Please note that the training does not include vaccinations for travel or BLS. If insufficient numbers are reached the course may not run.
