Bridging the Gap is a two-week programme for international students new to higher education in the UK. The programme allows students to arrive on campus before their main course starts and to spend time settling in and learning about our academic culture and student life in Hull.

Detailed Description

What does the programme focus on?

Designed in consultation with our academic teams and our international student ambassadors, the programme focuses on common challenges international students experience when studying at a UK university for the first time and provides the necessary tips, guidance, and know-how to help you get off to the best start possible.

When is it?

Running over two weeks from 2 September to 13 September, sessions run from Monday to Friday with most being scheduled in the morning allowing you the rest of the day to get sorted and settled.

Who can attend?

The programme is open to international students who have an unconditional offer to attend their main programme of study at the University of Hull.

Where does it take place?

The programme takes place on campus at the University of Hull.    

How much is it?

The programme has a £100 registration fee.  This does not include accommodation.  You will need to arrange your own accommodation.   To arrange on campus for Bridging the Gap please contact [email protected]

How do I apply?

Register with the online store and then add 1 x Bridging the Gap to your shopping backet.   In your shopping basket,  click on proceed to check out and then complete the registration form.   After this, you will be asked to make payment.  

 What happens after I register for Bridging the Gap?

Once you have registered for the programme,  you will receive a letter confirming your place and an information pack telling you what you need to do next to join the programme.
